The first time I ate at Inter, I was completely floored. They served what I thought to be really home-y Thai food - it was both heartwarming and hearty. At such reasonable prices, it was almost criminal. Fast forward two years and Inter has changed its menu (you now get a glossy magazine style menu with pictures) and it looks much cleaner and brighter and - dare I say it - prices are a bit higher. I enjoyed my food but it lacked the oomph which was present in every bite during my first meal. The tomyum soup was the greatest disappointment - it is no longer sharp and spicy, and reminded me of Ban Khun Mae's version (that's not a compliment), as it was watered down. However, the stir fried morning glory and the catfish green curry were still excellent and are miles apart from the renditions that we find here in Singapore. Ok, not that I've ever found Catfish green curry in Singapore so points to Inter for that. Will I return again? Probably. Even with the price increase, the standard of cooking remains excellent and at that price point, it's hard to find an alternative that is just as value for money.
