For those who want to spend the next few minutes wasting your time, read on...I guarantee you it will be time wasted.
Queue story time...
After a decent day of running around and getting stuff done it was time to hit the beach for a sunset surf. At about 6:30pm @katothewalrus and I got to the beach which had some surprisingly ‘larger than expected’ waves rolling in. After almost drowning while trying to paddle out (I should mention here that I’m likely the world’s worst swimmer and that without a board under me I’d have no chance of survival. I’m pretty sure my kids can hold their breath longer than I can. ) we managed to catch a few decent waves over the space of an hour. By this time it’s pretty dark and about 5 mins from our house we see a 30+kg boar in the middle of the road. At this point neither of us are ready to snap pics so it runs off and we keep driving. We get home, unpack the surf gear and head out again to breed one of our female Shikokus. About 3 mins out we see another boar running across the road and, once again, neither of us are ready to take pics (when I say “neither of us” I mostly just mean me, seeing as how @katothewalrus is driving). We get to our breeder-friend’s place where, unfortunately, the process doesn’t pan out as we hoped so we head home. We get to the back road where we previously saw the other boar and this time I decide I’m gonna be ready despite knowing the chances of us seeing another boar are slim to none. About 2 minutes in there’s another monster boar crossing the road and me, being the idiot that I am, decided to stupidly take photos of it instead of videoing so that all you enthralled readers can get a “detailed” look at the wildlife in our area. Seriously though, I don’t know what made me think that I could get a decent shot of it in the dark while driving. For those of you who made it to the end of this story, I hope you enjoyed wasting your time as much as I did while writing this. #boar#wildlife#forrest#nature
