Pivotal Moments TODAY'S BUTI YOGA INTO THE DEPTHS
The three ages/moments in time that influenced me the most are:
At the age of 21 years old, I moved from my hometown of Crofton, MD living with my parents, playing in my brother’s band, I have no clue what my job was back then, I moved to NYC, The Big Apple. I had decent jobs in NYC, but I never pursued a career in these jobs, but instead I partied my ass off. No car, but cabs everywhere, bars never closed, clubs and DJs were the highlight, and I had a lot of fun! This was my existence for many many years. #2
I became a Mother at the age of 34 to a beautiful son named Aiden River born in NYC. I still partied, but it became more of a need and solo event I enjoyed alone. I started to isolate myself from the world and drank alone.
I finally hit my lowest of low from my alcoholism. I had no choice if I wanted to live and step up as a Mom, try to be a productive member of society in hopes of finding a little happiness, I committed to getting sober at the age of 45, and I’m almost 48 years old now. I committed to working a 12 Step Program, and I did 90 AA meetings in 90 days. It worked because i worked it. I also worked through a lot of emotions and extremely difficult life events like when my boyfriend who lived with us for 4 years left me just when I got sober. I felt the feels beyond what my imagination could believe possible to feel. I felt so much pain and heartbreak, and I had to change everything in my life and build everything again, meaning me, myself and I. I worked hard and I cried a whole hell of a lot. My beautiful Sponsor Linda Gallon helped me get through it all.
These moments in time created who I am today. I would NEVER change a thing because I choose consciously or unconsciously everything that happened in my life, good and bad. These decisions forced change, so I could learn and grow and realize there’s so much more to life than what I realized. Life is about growing, giving, nurturing ourselves and others and appreciating the beautiful of nature and embrace every human being with love. #intothedepths @butiyoga @breakmethod @bizziegold @themoderngoodshow
