Simple bolognese paired with a glass of scotch ginger ale -
Boil the spaghetti noodles in salt water and add a table spoon of oil to prevent the noodles from sticking. Boil till al dentè. Strain the noodles and set aside.
Dice up onion, garlic, carrot, tomato and bacon (optional). Season the minced beef with salt, pepper and a pinch of chilli powder or paprika. Add a few table spoons of oil into a pot and render the bacon. Add garlic and onion, and let it caramelise. Next, add the carrot and tomato until it softens. Lastly, push the cooked ingredients aside of the pot and add the minced beef, let the beef cook till it crisp a little. Next, add canned whole peeled tomatoes and red wine (optional), let it simmer and allow the flavours to develop for about 45mins to an hour.
Condiments: salt, pepper, paprika, fish sauce (optional) and Worcestershire sauce
