Hello @wickandfable! I'm Margaret and I am a HUGE book nerd. Surprise surprise I'm an avid read from Florida who is active on both Bookstagram and BookTube. I would love to enter into you #wfrepsearch4 for either the candles or the monthly boxes. I happen to love figuring out how to take pictures of both.
A little about me: I have a theatre degree from UF and I've live here my entire life. I've been a reader since I was a kid. I was three, I believe, when I first asked my mom to teach me to read (to her utter delight and dismay, she had no idea how). I read a lot of YA Fantasy, with a smattering of contemporary and SciFi and I love that your shop has a healthy mix of fandoms I already belong to and fandoms I want to dive into. Some forever favorite authors include Rick Riordan, VE Schwab, Maggie Stiefvater, and JK Rowling (naturally).
If you were to pick me, you can count on the usual unboxing in my stories, the required number of photos per week (and then some). Plus, I'd be doing unboxings on my BookTube as well. I am not someone who is content with just doing good enough, I'm always looking for ways to improve my feed--hence my recent ungrade to a decicated monthly aesthetic. I think it really gives the books and products a chance to pop. I'm a huge supporter of small businesses and I love giving them a boost. Thank you for your consideration and good luck on your search!
I just realized as I was taking this picture that I left out one of the books I want to read this month and that's Dealing with Dragons by Patricia C. Wrede. I've got something extra special planned for that book over on my BookTube channel, so stayed tuned for an update some time around the end of the month. As for the rest of these suckers, I am so excited to have them on my TBR. Some of these books I've been waiting for with baited breath. Some of them I've been meaning to read forever and I've decided now is the time. And of course there's my pick for July's episode of "Read the Book" (if you missed the last episode, there's still a link in my bio). July TBR:
War Storm by Victoria Aveyard
A Reaper at the Gates by Sabaa Tahir
My Plain Jane by Brodi Ashton et Al
A Court of Thorns and Roses by Sarah J. Maas
Pride and Prejudice and Zombies by Seth Grahame-Smith
Northanger Abbey by Jane Austen
Dealing with Dragons by Patricia C. Wrede
Finally ready to start doing some mommy and me type activities out in the community!Today we made it to story hour at the library! Little Miss was perfectly behaved and thoroughly enjoyed herself...she even tapped her foot and shook her booty during the music portion! Loves reading Definitely my daughter! #teachthemyoung#literacymatters#bookishgirls
Confession -- editing photos the same way consistently for an IG theme is so much harder than it should be. I've struggled in vain, so my photos will never quite match from batch to batch. Anyone else have this problem? Any quick solutions?
. #JuneLitWrit: How do you balance reading/writing? | I read before bed, every night. No matter what time it is. I read at least 15 mins. Books may get read more slowly that way, but they do get read. I do read longer and more often when I can!
Do you have a career outside of writing? | Wellll...I do not! I quit my job last year in hopes of becoming a full-time author. It's debatable whether or not that was a wise choice financially, and it's definitely come with major sacrifices, but I love being home all the time, able to write and build my platform every day.
QOTD: What books of your childhood had the best illustrations?
AOTD: The Nancy Drew books stick out to me as having amazing illustrations. They were so vivid and detailed, yet totally simple in being created in ink and shown in black and white! I'd like to find some used copies of these sometime that are really cheap, then tear out the illustrations to frame.
She can read by moonlight yet she can't find anything in her room in broad daylight.
She spent absolutely ages looking for her father's day stuff P.S. stuffing hobnob moons and jaffa stars in your mouth dont count right
So after spending the last 15 months eating anything that wasn't nailed down because of this little beauty I've decided to be a little healthier.
We've got a wedding coming up and I currently look like a sausage in my dress. So last night I cooked a lovely, very healthy, meal of cajun spiced chicken, squash crinkley cut chips and a lovely fresh salad. It was lovely. I was crowned the best cook ever and we all went to bed with full bellys and a little warm fuzzy feeling in our hearts.
At no point last night did anyone stand in the kitchen sobbing and shaking because they were so hungry. 3 packets of biscuits definitely were not eaten. The brownies were not touched and the Haribo tangfastics were not poured straight into anyone's mouth from the packet.
Tonight I cooked lasagne and no treats have come to any harm (yet). I'm also hoping that tonight will be a little better than today for this little poppet. Though I have enjoyed the cuddles albeit it the very snotty drooly cuddles
