All-time great from one of favourite, mature vintages. Great wines, sadly upon purchase in 1998 by Bernard Arnault prices soar as he was the first one to view wines and luxury good. Soon, all leading Bordeaux estates followed increasing the prices of their wines significantly. Fortunately despite high release prices quality seems to be there today being in 15 Bordeaux Chateaus. Whether one feels spending on this wine 400-500 Euro upon release is individual, I feel that way too often purchase of those wines is motivated by monetary gains forgetting completely about the wine. Love to drink it, however not paying for EP 400-500 Euro’s, my 💵 go somewhere else.
Surprisingly light, 🌰 colour with lovely aromas of smoked red and dark berries, cigar, beef stock, tobacco, camphor, dry forest floor and red pepper. Dances on your palate with a flavour of the above, medium body with perfectly dissolved tannins and mineral line of freshness. Delicious Cheval, feels being at its pick where it should remain for another 5-10 years.😌
