6/18/18 Verse of the Day
I hope and pray you're having a MARVELOUS night/day
Throughout History, believers of The Triune God of The Bible have found themselves in some seemingly scary and/or worrisome predicaments. Examples of these situations include but are NOT limited to: Moses running from the Egyptian army, Joshua marching around the city of Jericho, little David facing the giant Goliath, the three Hebrew men (Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego) entering the fiery furnace, Daniel being in the lions' den, Esther approaching the King unannounced, and the apostles suffering and dying for their faith. Now, as mentioned in a previous post, it is VERY easy to trust in The Lord God when life is good, but it's a MUCH different story when life is not so good. Nevertheless, these stories of believers from the past show that not even the WORST of circumstances can turn a genuine believer away from God. In fact, many MORE believers were willing to suffer and die rather than renounce their faith, which tells us something AMAZING: people will die for what they believe is the truth, but they will not die for what they believe is a lie. The reason this statement is amazing is because ALL of the believers who suffered and/or died for their faith add even more credibility to God and His Word. These people (and COUNTLESS more) were not scared out of their faith by armies, water, cities, giants, fire, lions, kings, persecution, pain, death, etc. Instead, they CONFIDENTLY believed God was with them, regardless of their seemingly hopeless situations. And their TRUE stories give us modern-day believers the assurance that God is not only with us but is BIGGER than ANY obstacle we encounter in our walk with Him. Of course, this Truth does not mean we born-again Christians are invincible or impervious to pain, suffering, and death. What it DOES mean is that no matter what becomes of us believers in this life, because of our faith in The Lord Jesus Christ, we have NO reason to fear this increasingly secular and wicked world. After all, this current world is not our home, because our Home is not of this world.
