It’s Wednesday. I’m not trying a new cigar, but I never reviewed it. Here are my newbie thoughts:
Montecristo Epic Craft Cured
Vitola/Size: Toro/6 x 52
Smoking Time: 1:30.22
Review: I first tried this cigar on 5/8 from a recommendation from fellow botl (Thanks @SirBossHogg). I was on a good drink and was enjoying the moment, so I didn’t review it (still celebrating my birthday). But I’m at a new spot (will review it as well) and came across it again so I had to give it another try.
I haven’t tried a lot of Montecristo cigars that weren’t cuban, but I’ve enjoyed each one at I’ve had. This one easily makes it to the top of my Montecristo list. The flavor of cocoa, coffee and nutty notes makes this one tasty stick. The construction was well built and what I have noticed, whether cuban or non-cuban, the smoke production is what’s most memorable of the Monte’s I’ve had. It has a slow burn and always even. I haven’t had to relit it, and that makes me happy. On the retrohale, the coffee is the most prevalent.
If you find one, try one. This is a box worthy cigar!
Lounge Review: Casa de Montecristo in Washington DC on L Street is a really nice spot. First time being in a lounge where the whole store was the humidor. It was cool to see the cigars just lined around the whole store. The selection was wide, and the customer service was great. The Tobacconist Daniel was very knowledgeable and helpful. The lounge area wasn’t huge, but large enough to where you don’t feel cramped. Met a few of the regulars and engaged in some good conversation while enjoying my cigar. I’ll definitely come back to hang here while in DC.
