Continuing my 🔹@africanhorsesafaris 🔹 feature of my incredible week with 🔹@ridebotswana🔹.
We had the best group, eight of us total: three new soul sisters from Wales, Kim, Kate,Janine, two others from the US, Lara and Alexis, and an Italian who currently lives in Jordan and speaks such perfect English you would think she’s American, Alessia.
At 54, I was the oldest, and the youngest was 28 yrs old, who after finishing our week of riding 6 hrs a day, was headed out to a second week in the Tuli. And of course the best traveling and safari partner ever, Jenni Terp.
This was one of three Baobab trees we saw. Breathtaking in size, and sometimes called the Tree of Life, or the Upside Down Tree because it looks like it was pulled up by its roots and turned upside down. Unlike other trees, they’re difficult to age because they don’t have rings, but some are estimated to be over 2,000 years old via radio carbon dating. Unfortunately many of them have been rapidly dying off the past 15 years, and climate change is suspect.
Thank you 🔹@africanhorsesafaris🔹for this trip of a lifetime and 🔹@ridebotswana🔹 for being such fantastic hosts.
