The ideal rainy day kids snack! Fresh Tassy honey on fresh home-made grain sourdough. Actually, I ate more than the kids . We looooove love bread. Even T-Bear manages to get through it at lightning speed with just one tooth. Sourdough is so much fun to make, tasty and a brilliant source of carbohydrates, protein and fiber for growing bubs. Coupled with the natural energy and antioxidants from honey, (thanks @honeytasmania ) this easy snack is one of our faves . We also like to shake things up with vegemite or peanut butter . Its the simple things in life that often satisfy the most. Sometimes I feel guilty for being lazy and giving my kids boring bread or toast, but I try to remember that children just require love and care - a nutritious meal that they enjoy is a win in every case, especially in a world where so many others go hungry.
(Please note: raw honey is not generally recommended for bubs under 12 months, due to the potential presence of our old friend 'clostridium botulinium'. This choice is for parental discretion. I have recently introduced honey to my youngest at about 11 months.)
