We need to talk about Skyler please. I'd really like to hear people's opinions on her character. I wonder how many people will read and agree with me. Let's see... Let me start off by stating that in MY eyes: she is the most underrated and overhated character.
Now let's rewind back to Seasons 1 and 2. Perhaps she committed the cardinal sin of the stereotypical awful wife: She was a nag who was "up in his ass" - but ask yourself, why was she? - when you're with a partner for so long and all of a sudden they start acting differently, is she in the wrong to question his change in behaviour? But of course Walt's irritatation is so relatable as she starts to slowly disclose that he was in the process of an illegal drug manufacturing business involving murder and the holding of hostages, that viewers immediately grew a dislike to her.
Now let's move forward to the later Seasons. She is now a completely different woman. She has surpassed the "nagging wife" phase and is now his partner in crime, as evidenced by the beige and white colours that her and Walt share. Although she was never given much choice, she ensured everything that happened from there on out was not only smart and untracable, but also in the interest of the safety of her children. The gambling story, the car wash, the "pool party" - just a clever yet terrified lady "biding her time" and showing her loyalty - She even goes as far to imply that Walt should bump off Jesse ("For us, what's one more?") - Skyler is not up in Walt's ass anymore. She's watching out for it.
Those viewers who hate on her for fucking her silver fox of a boss and pulling a sharp ass knife on him after discovering Hank is 6ft under - I can only assume this rage stems from the fact that she objects to Walt's business and didn't conform to his drug world?
