Bring Me The Horizon - amo | as harsh as this sounds, you can tell BMTH really are hugely influenced by Linkin Park, even to the point of changing their sound constantly with more shitty and generic pop-centric albums. but to give them some credit, this album is still better than their last boring pop-rock record "That's The Spirit". while usually ending in disastrous results, their attempt at blending other genres does create a few interesting moments. "MANTRA" and "wonderful life" are probably the heaviest songs on here but also some of the most basic. so many weird moments - "nihilist blues" honestly sounds more like a Grimes song featuring Oli Sykes than the other way round, "sugar honey ice & tea" could've been a decent song if not ruined by the worst hook in their discography and "ouch" almost enters nightcore territory. "mother tongue" is actually one of the most radio-friendly generic pop songs but i can't get that damn catchy chorus out of my head so i've been bumping it all week. "heavy metal" is also a catchy banger with some clever lyrics poking fun at their critics and fans wanting their "old sound" (i.e. me). everything else is just meh to say the least. 4/10.
