Where I will be spending a lot of time this year 👩⚕️🦷
For those who have missed it, this year I am finally beginning the journey of fixing my teeth which means a lot of dental work, removal of wisdom teeth and braces (at this stage Invisalign is not an option for what I need).
Teeth is something that I think as adults gets pushed aside in our lives and conversations, so I want to remain open about mine for anyone that might be interested, and if you’re not interested in my dental journey that’s cool too, but it’s going to be a big part of my life this year (maybe even years to come) so I want to share it.
So far I have had 3 appointments.. the first was a consult with all the x-rays and a clean, the second was a more thorough clean to prepare me for dental work and the third which was yesterday, my first dental appointment for this year, was for dental work only aka fillings.
My face was numb for what felt like half the day yesterday and when it wore off became super sore, so I basically just watched Netflix when I got home all afternoon and into the night (I finished the series ‘YOU’ - and I am still kind of unsure how I feel about it haha).
A lot of people began their teeth journey from a young age, mine is only beginning at the age of 28.. but I’m ok with that, sure I might still have my braces on when I’m 30.. but I’m ok with that too. I’ve dreamt about that sparkling smile ever since I was little, and I’m gonna make my own dreams come true.
When I went into the dentist last year after pushing aside my teeth for so long and was told that my teeth can still be fixed, that I can still have the smile of my dreams.. I couldn’t believe it, I literally cried with joy, that’s how much this journey means to me.
It’s never too late 😬💙
