Tonight: Camelot Opening Day at @brighamsplayhouse
Here's the dress I wore when I was 8 years old. Then: 2000
Thank you @h2oco and @stevenbpt for supporting my dreams to be a princess when I was 8 and for continuing to support my dreams and passions throughout my life.
My dreams are not easy; they don't end in mass amounts of money or fame, but they make me happy. My parents and sisters have always encouraged me to find joy and to follow my passions. I could have had a successful and fairly lucrative career in so many different areas, yet theatre is what I chose. My family has seen me as a fighter even when I feel I am at my weakest and want to quit and choose something easier. On those days I pick myself up off the floor, put on the simple necklace my mom gave me for Christmas in high school, and get myself back on track. That necklace says "Courage to Dream" and regularly reminds me that I have my family as my foundation and that even when I lose sight of the dream during the hard days, that they are holding me up and are always with me.
I know I have been blessed with my passion, my determination, and my talents for a reason. I will always dream and I will always strive to find ways to touch people's lives through theatre and music. I don't need fame. I don't need to be on Broadway. I need to be a tool to communicate love, joy, heartache, pain, triumph, and more for others. I don't do what I do just for me, I do it for you.
