Overton Wildlife Management Area. Moapa Valley, NV. (36.515182,-114.422863)
Abby cracked a nail yesterday . Non-emergency that doesn't seem to be bugging her much, but I moved here to give her some more forgiving ground to walk on, and to be closer to the vet in Overton when they open Monday morning.
6 large pull-through sites with covered picnic tables and raised cooking grills. Vault toilet about a 1/4 mile from the camp area. Free. 8 day limit. 3-4 bars VZ 4G LTE unboosted. Near the road, a silica plant, and a hunting area, so noise may be an issue. Here on a Sunday and it isn't bad.
Wildlife Area consists of dozens of large ponds and fields with dike roads and trails criss-crossing the valley. Doesn't look like much from the road, but I was pleasantly surprised by the hiking and bird watching opportunities here. Waterfowl hunting allowed on even numbered days (Sept-Feb), if that's your thing. 2.5/5 overall.
