So, I posted this picture but I hated it. 😬 I retook it. My post was very long so this one is going to be much shorter.
This is my #libraryhaul and #tbrpile! I know I post a variety of fiction, horror, and YA. In honor of November, I will finish up my regular books I've been reading. However, I will also be mostly posting and reading Indigenous authors. They can be read alll year round(!!) but I will make it a priority this month.
Medicine Walk, House Made of Dawn, and Indian Horse are fiction books that touch on issues of identity, heritage, and the devastating events of history of the Indigenous community.
From the Ashes is a memoir about a Metis man who battled and overcame drug abuse, homelessness and the foster care system.
The Marrow Thieves is an apocalyptic fiction about the aftermath of global warming. With this aftermath, the Indigenous community is being hunted for their bone marrow. A group of teenagers have the secret to fight off these thieves.
These books are short, so I'm going to try my best to read them all! I haven't read any of these authors but I'm so excited to read Richard Wagamese and Cherie Dimaline.
What are you looking forward to reading this month?? I hope everyone has a good Friday and weekend!
Also as a side note: If you're looking for more indigenous reading recs, fantasic posts, and a great page, check out @thunderbirdwomanreads! She's so kind, thoughtprovoking and just a great person and bookstagrammer! :)
