reminiscing this creation that I've yet to make again (and really need to) •
I wanted a bagel with lox, so I made a bagel with lox. My first time making bagels, and they turned out more like bread. But they make me think of 饅頭 (a chinese steamed bun) so I think I'm going to figure out how that could work next.
this carrot lox: 2 large carrots, peeled. slice thinly and let sit over double boiler for about 10 minutes. marinate with olive oil, liquid smoke, apple cider vinegar, salt, pepper (to taste). roast at 350 for 15 min uncovered, then cover and roast for 10 more. cool, serve!
I had a different recipe involving salt roasting and marinading for a couple of days that was even tastier, but not as photogenic 👀
Served with capers and @kitehillfoods plain cream cheese. Had a red onion but it was rotten 😩
