One of the main reasons I recently moved to Merida is the culinary scene is really starting to take off here. As a food and travel writer ( @erindesantiago ) and blogger on @ourtastytravels, I'm blessed that I've been able to travel all around the globe and work with some of the world's best chefs. I couldn't be more excited to be based in a destination where new restaurants are opening and fun things are continuously happening — including a number of visiting chefs. .
Corozal is one of the least visited spots in Belize. It may not have the nice beaches of Placencia or the calm waters of Ambergris Caye, but it’s a charming little town near the border of Mexico. We often fly into the airport near here and head straight over the border to Chetumal. However, this latest trip we hung out for a night and wandered around checking out the sights and trying a local restaurant I’ve been wanting to visit. If you are traveling all over Belize, don’t skip Corozal! Its non-touristy vibe was a welcome change from high season on the cayes to be honest.
It's views like this one that remind us what we love about our favorite waterfront beach bars. Check out the latest article on the blog for another week full of virtual beach bar goodness (link in profile). Which beach bar has your favorite view? 🍹🍍🌞🌴⛱ . . .
