Thank you to Eva Schloss for speaking at CU this week, it was the greatest honor. She and her mother survived Auschwitz-Birkenau, her father and brother did not. Her mother later married Anne Frank’s father, Otto Frank, who lost his entire family in the Holocaust. Holocaust education is CRITICAL. Not just for Jews, but for EVERYONE. I believe every child should be taught what happened in WWII, and every parent is responsible for teaching them. If you did not get that education, it is never too late. Read the memoirs, watch the survivor interviews, view the photographs. I was raised to be a proud Jew and I have never ceased in being one. I’m lucky to have been born into a family of proud Jews. I’m lucky to be marrying a man who respects and is proud of my heritage.
If you will read Eva’s book, send me a DM with your address and I will personally send you a copy. Stories like hers MUST be heard. “The Jewish people have suffered through centuries, we always have suffered, but we’re always going to be here again for the future. We show the world what good people have to do.” —Eva Schloss
