What's on your bucket list?
This is me, as a Uni student, when I volunteered working with wild non-releasable birds. I used to fly this owl a few times a week and participate in educational demonstrations.
I didn't care about birds much. I still wanted to be a veterinarian, but was on track to be a mixed animal vet (large and small animals)Until I answered an ad for a part time job at a local conservation area that housed some rehabilitated raptors.
I just wanted some extra cash. I didn't know if I would like the job. Or if I would be any good at being a "nature interpreter". Honestly, I still have no idea why they hired me -- maybe because they had a small petting zoo and I had veterinary experience.
Unexpectedly, I became an avid birdwatcher and naturalist, nurturing early seeds of my interest in wildlife and conservation.
