For example...creating a mental to do list as you're getting a massage.
Or, spending time with loved ones only to realize your mind is a million miles away.
Being mindful and staying in the present moment is a practice, for sure. We all get caught up in thoughts, anxiety or future trippin from time to time. Fear not, Queen. Here are a couple of ways to stay present to the RIGHT NOW. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
Be Present to the Current Moment ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
Anchoring - just as it sounds!
Focus your attention on your bottom half. Hips, thighs, calves, ankles, feet, toes -
what are the sensations your are feeling?
How do your socks feel on your feet?
Are your shoes too tight?
Are you calves and thighs in need of a yoga session or some stretching?
By anchoring and focusing on parts of our body it calls our mind back into the present moment and how we are feeling. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
Mantras or Affirmations -
As soon as you recognize that your mind has whisked you away repeat an easy to remember affirmation or mantra. My personal fave is super simple, "Be Here Now." Choose whatever is simple and easy to remember ♡
Focus on Your Breath -
Just like anchoring, focusing on your breath gently and effectively brings you back into your body and the present moment. It doesnt have to be complicated, just a simple deep breath in
