Well, this jumped off the wall today and the frame broke, so I decided to repost a video because I spent a grueling 22hrs on it a few years ago for my honey and so I feel like the world should see it again.
The past two days, I’ve been tearing through bell hooks’ book “All About Love: New Visions”.
It’s a refreshing reminder of the value both travel and feminism have in my life: to explore the depths of others’ humanity; to fight for something more profound and meaningful than just myself.
There’s a lot of shit going down in the world right now. And I know that it will get worse before it gets better.
But there’s one beautiful quote from the book I can’t stop turning around in my head:
“The light of love is always in us, no matter how cold the flame.”
I like to warm myself with that thought. It’s a much needed reminder to help guide us through such uncertain times.
What about you? How do you practice love and self-care with everything that’s going on in the world?
Our new #cocktail From Commoner to Kween is ready for Saturday Night, are you?
Happy weekend! Today I’m excited to share my ultimate guide to the Chelsea/Flatiron area in NYC (link in bio).
I’ve worked around this area for a while now, so I’ve had an especially good amount of time to “slow travel” and really dig into the best parts of it.
I also made a custom interactive Google Map that you can send to yourself for later!
Are there any areas you’d like to see featured next? Let me know
