so happy you guys liked the first chapter!! thanks for the support
I get out of the car as soon as it stops. "Goodbye, Hay!" mom says as she waves goodbye. I wave back.
I look back. "Bye." I say. Well, this is it. First day of High School and first day in public school.
"Annie, say something to your sister." I hear my mom tell Annie for the 3rd time.
She looks up from her phone and waves me goodbye. "Good luck." she says. And she's back to her social media.
As my mom drive off, I am left standing in front of the school building. No turning back now.
As I walk inside, students suddenly stop and stare at me. It's as if the whole world was in slow motion as I look at them. I feel butterflies everywhere. This is not how I wanted my first day of High School to go. I feel so helpless. I need to get to the office right away before this turns worse.
Everyone is staring. Everyone is taking pictures. Some are whispering. Others are pointing at me. I feel something thumping from my chest. I then hear murmurs. Even if it's from afar, I know what they're saying.
"Annie LeBlanc's sister, right?" a girl with her two friends comes up to me. I nod. "Need any help?" she asks.
I try to act casual, pushing negative thoughts away. "Do you guys know where the office is?" I manage to say. Usually, I would say no. But at this situation, their help is better than these groups of people.
"Come follow me." the girl says. Her friends lock their arms around mine.
As I come inside, I notice how crowded it is. There are a bunch of things happening. People kissing, talking, gossiping, laughing. I notice the groups right away—jocks, cheerleaders, populars, nerds, bullies, etc.
On the way to office, people took photos and asked for autographs. At first, it was weird for me. But then it seemed normal when they finally mention Annie.
I'll always just be a shadow.
We finally reach the office. "Okay, we're here." says the girl. "I'm Lara. And they're Belle and Nikki." she says, pointing to the two girls.
As I'm about to say thank you, they suddenly ask for photos. They actually even have some requests that I should apparently bring up to my sister. The usual.
