A forensic interview is a non-leading, developmentally sensitive method of gathering information from children and interviews are conducted in a safe, non-threatening environment. In a separate room, law enforcement officers observe as the child is interviewed. This allows investigative parties to thoroughly assess child safety issues and possible criminal offenses that may have been committed, all while meeting the emotional needs of the child. Find out more about our Forensic Services offered at the link in our bio.

When I tell people about these things and instead of seeing their error and correcting it they act offensively it makes me question if they understand the seriousness of these subjects and thus if they are or not a danger to kids. People who don't understand these concepts could harm kids. Fact!
4-years-old Taylor gained her angel wings after she was beaten to death by father's girlfriend in an act of revenge. The father and girlfriend were fighting and she was angry so she took out her frustrations on his innocent daughter.
My heart goes out to Taylor, her father, and many loved ones.
Rest peacefully Taylor...
There exist so many types of abuse. From emotional to physical. Subtle to blatant...
But can you stop abuse or report it or seek help when you don't even know what it is?
How can you also provide the needed support as a care giver or service provider if you don't fully understand the full ramifications of a particular type of abuse.
Some of us are constantly abused (subtle abuse) but we don't know and that makes us helpless and always a victim.
Blatantly obvious types of abuse have a back story that borders sometimes on negligence, assumptions of trust, build up of subtle abuse.
Sometimes we know but we are handicapped to act for an array of reasons.
Its high time our kids are given full understanding and reorientation about how to handle their bodies and how to identify strange acts. We care givers also need to become more aware of our environment. Justice is hard to seek especially in a country like Nigeria. Therefore more than one approach is needed.
Self love, self awareness and encouragement for kids to open up is becoming very necessary. That silly culture of not speaking up about whatever and being subdued as a "respectful child" is no longer valid... As an adult, the WILL to stand up against any form of abuse must start from - Increased self awareness
- mindfulness practices
- practical and deep self love - mind development
- mastering "NO"
NO is a complete sentence please.
Abuse may not kill physically but it surely and gradually kills your essence. .
Find you and say NO to abuse. more @dooakutofoundation
#TIP 2# HOW TO KEEP YOUR CHILD SAFE FROM SEXUAL PREDATORS. #Swipe to see the pictures#
Teaching your child about body privacy and that they are the Boss of their own body is a gift that you can give to your child.
Parents should teach their children the different body parts between boys and girls.
Parents should work out body private part safety rules. For example : NOBODY is allowed to touch their private parts and they are not allowed to touch other people's private parts.
PREDATORS tend to avoid children who have accurate information when they know the children have been spoken to by their parents.
When we teach children these boundaries, it makes them to be safer in the world and it empowers them.
