thiccc CINNAMON spice overnight proats🧡✨
i usually have my oatmeal FIRST thing in the morning, then do some work and digest, and then i’ll go to the gym, or sometimes i’ll wake up less hungry, go to the gym first (if it’s an easier day like cardio or upper body), and then devour a bowl like this immediately after😋 it just depends on the day and how i feel when i wake up💁🏻♀️
my bowls weren’t always this elaborate, and neither was my gym routine. i was introduced to “proats” by a personal trainer. it started off as just mixing 1/2 cup quick oats, hot water, and a scoop of protein powder which i’d eat 1-2 hours before a workout. it wasn’t the most delicious, but because i was just coming off of the “low carb diet” lifestyle and mindset, any type of carb felt like a DREAM🥰 then i started doing more strength training💪🏼 as opposed to just cardio, introducing more carbs🍠🥦🍚 into my other meals, and eating MORE meals🍌🥙🍲🥗, and noticed that i had way more energy, became leaner, and overall felt happier and healthier😁🤸🏻♀️i was VERY hesitant about doing all of those things because i was afraid i’d gain weight again, but sometimes you just have to trust the advice of someone who knows better, and also trust your own body. once i started seeing the results of all the work i was putting in (meal prepping, eating and sleeping, and working out consistently), my relationship with myself and my body improved. during that time, i wasn’t tracking but i’d weigh my proteins and carbs to make sure i was eating enough. and until now, i don’t stress over things like, eating too much over the weekend or missing the gym for a couple days, because i know i won’t lose all of the progress i’ve made after 1 or 2 meals, or even 1 week, and i trust that i’ll be able to get back on track. and maybe having that feeling of trust and control allowed me to start experimenting with new ingredients and flavours, and also new workout routines, making healthy eating and fitness an enjoyable experience, and not a chore! being creative also feeds my soul and gives me the motivation to keep going🏃🏻♀️
what motivates you?!
