This morning speed work turned into a slow run, due to the slickness of the ground from this morning crazy thick fog....oh Houston weather need to get it together. I started using the NRC app 13.1 training program for some much needed structure with my run routines. I haven't been running much since NY Marathon, just an occasional jog. and Inwas starting to feel like crap. Also got back in the water after a long hiatus. Hills for breakfast ➡️ #runfasteatslow recovery quinoa salad for lunch ‼️ First hard effort post @philly_marathon today with 6x45ish second hills. The hill wasn’t long but it was steep! Felt good to get the legs moving even in the windy cold today ❄️ Plus, I had this salad to look forward to! This is one of my favorite salads to make in the beginning of the week and eat it all week long. I like to put in extra kale, and I actually ENJOY eating it. So yummy 😋
How to get out of a "fitness slump"... Sorry I was so MIA this weekend! I was just feeling a serious lack of motivation. And scrolling through Instagram, it seems like so many of us are this time of year! So what did I do...? Threw a pity party and sat my butt on the couch. Yes this is actually what I did on Saturday 🤷 But as the afternoon approached I felt like I wasted my day. So I signed up for a class on Sunday morning. Normally it's just me and my music at the gym 💪 🎶 and I don't mind that at all! But when I knew I needed that little extra push I joined a class. Not only did I feel like I haddd to go, but I really enjoyed it! Tonight’s run pushed me over 950 miles for the year and was a nice reminder that I can push the pace every now and then. 1,000 miles is within striking distance; feeling good with 15 days left in the year. Hopefully the discomfort in my knee doesn’t turn out to be anything serious and I can knock out the last 50 miles. #swooshlife

To no surprise, the #topnine of 2018 were all run-inspired; 2 of which were post-marathon pics. 2019 will be quite life-changing and next years top 9 will likely look vastly different.
‘Twas the week before Christmas, and all through the streets, not a creature stirring was stirring...except cold 🥶 dawn runners running seven miles in winter looking at decorations trying to pretend he does not have frostbite feet.... That’s the winter runner’s version of the story, right? 😕
This run 🙌 Last night I was about to lose my mind studying for finals. I woke up this morning with a million reasons I shouldn’t run and stressed that I could have an extra hour and a half of studying instead of running 9 miles. I decided to do it because I knew it would make me feel better, and it did! My mind is clearer and I’m ready to focus on studying. You never regret a workout! Hope everyone has a great weekend 💞
