Woolworths Choc Berry Cake Balls
Trash Food Guidance 1. Fragrance and Flavour: I expected these to have a very strong fake berry or fake strawberry scent. However, the fragrance was much more subtle than I anticipated. These cake bites were like a cake version of a Cherry Ripe but much more sugary. I did not get much of a coconut flavour out of these, which is a bit of a shame 13/20 2. Texture: These are soft, but if you eat more than one at a time they can be hard to swallow. The cake glues your moth together. I didn't find it unpleasant, but you'll probably need a cup to tea with these. 15/20 3. Appearance and packaging: I love the resealable bag, and, whilst I did eat these all at once, I appreciate that the manufacturers have more confidence in my ability to stop eating something once I open the packet than I do. It nice that someone believes in me. 15/20 4. Value/ price: On sale these were $2. I think that is a reasonable price. The regular price is $4, which is an outrage. 14/20 5. Novelty and fun: I think these were brought out at Christmas time. I had never seen them before and the fact that they are trying to get rid of these from the shelves makes me think that this is a seasonal item. Meh. 13/20
Total - 70/💯 Bonus Trash Factor: I feel like this is a bit of a stretch in terms of seasonal products. It's not particularly Christmas-y. I mean, the pack is red, but that is about it. Coles go that shit going on 24/7. What is festive about cake balls? Rum balls are festive…hmmm. But why? Who knows. Life is mysterious. Plus 7.8 points for fake festivity.
