These little pups. Oh the joy they have brought during the past crazy weeks of our lives. I love how they sit faithfully watching over Hayden.
As I have watched them interact, I have been in awe of how much they understand. How much they communicate to us without words.
As they faithfully sit by Hayden’s side, day after day, I’ve thought of those I cannot see.
I have wondered so often who the angels are that minister to Hayden. Who are those from the other side who constantly remain with him, protecting and strengthening him. I can feel the presence of angels in our home, especially in the silent moments. I feel the peace, calm and reassurance their light brings.
I know my mom and Thomas’ dad have both spent time with us, as well as our grandparents and others. I’m grateful for their unwavering love and support. Their presence reminds me that although I don’t have all the answers, for today I have enough to get through whatever we are required to face.
More than anything, they help me remember that this is God’s plan and His will. And He is with us, ever watching over and prompting us when we need to act.
Yesterday was definitely filled with peace amongst the chaos of infusions which kept me from Hayden’s side while Thomas took him to a specialist. As I participated via phone, peace accompanied all three of us as the doctor confirmed the road ahead is long, complicated and painful. Yet, we felt peace reassured the Lord is in control.
And although the road ahead will be the most challenging we’ve walked, we know eventually it will be a blessing in Hayden’s life, not a curse. Comforted with His peace, we move forward and help Hayden learn to adjust, understand, fight, surrender, trust God, discern promptings, and grow through this experience. Reminded that “all these things shall give ye experience...for your good”. We are holding tight to that promise. We trust God will deliver Hayden in His time and for His purposes. Until then, we walk the path ahead clinging to our Savior and trusting Him in all things, just as we try to every day in every situation we find ourselves in.
