Saw #dumbo because #iseefilmssoyoudonthaveto Okay. If you’re under eight. You’ll probably like this. But. None of you are so... I was so grateful for the major change in the plot, which I won’t reveal here, but let’s say that it differs from Disney’s usual family dynamics. It’s ridiculous. But easy to watch and possibly Colin Farrell’s best American accent performance to date. I never felt any of the characters were in major peril so, that sense of suspense was missing for it to really have an impact. Case in point. I’m still traumatised from #hotelmumbai a week later. Now. That had suspense. Odd, as this is a Tim Burton film so, while it looked beautiful, it had no depth beyond the sumptuous colour palate. Also disappointing... It’s a Michael Keaton and Burton reunion ... and has nothing of their previous chemistry. Finally. The third act. What a mess. Utter mess. Unless the burning of a Disneyesque pleasure park had another hidden meaning... 6.5/10.
