It’s not about depriving yourself of food, it’s about eating the right thing. Think about what you can have, all the nutritious food that you can add to your diet. Your body is pretty smart. The more good stuff you put in, the less crap it will ask for.

🥗This was sooo goo and easy to do:
Sautéed red cabbage with a bit of pink salt, gf soy sauce and organic coconut sugar.
Shredded carrots
Roasted red bell pepper
Green beans (I cooked them with a bit of salted water)
Tofu
White sesame seeds

I am a sucker for the flavors in Niçoise salad. Classic, simplified, turned into a sandwich...doesn’t matter. Here is my summer lunch version, stripped down to a few essential flavors: Tomato Basil Niçoise salad. Tomatoes, basil (@owlshollowfarm), pitted olives, capers and basil microgreens (@ironcityorganics). Fresh, bright. Easy.

The vinaigrette makes it sing: 2 T red wine vinegar, 1 shallot finely diced, 2 grated garlic cloves, 2-4 anchovy fillets (I use 4 because I LOVE anchovies), 3 T olive oil (@simplyinfused.oliveoil.shop) salt & Pepper. I do this all in a mason jar. SHAKE and done (thank you southern friends....mason jars are life!). Best part...this is even better day two 😉😉😉

Sundays are for pancakes 🥞
1/2 batch (3 servings) of @fooddreamer coconut flour pancakes. They are so light and fluffy! I got 9 total, which means 3 pancakes per serving (I had four 😬)
Topped them with fresh strawberries, @choczero maple syrup, and extra butter 😋
After putting everything into my macro app, I was pretty surprised to see how low in calories my whole plate was! Just means I get to eat lots more today 👍🏻(even though I'm currently #stuffed)

Yuca Fries. 🍟
ich bin verliebt! Ich habe mir vor kurzem gefrorene YucaStücke beim Afroshop um die Ecke gekauft und sie heute endlich zubereitet. Auf Backwaren und Nudeln zu verzichten war für mich nie ein Problem aber auf Kartoffeln? Mit Kochbananen, Yams, Süßkartoffeln und Yuca hat man allerdings die perfekten Alternativen und ordentlich Abwechslung auf dem Speiseplan. Und um ehrlich zu sein: krossere Fries habe ich noch nie gegessen! Innen cremig und außen super knusprig. Yuca ist unter anderem auch als Maniok und Cassava bekannt.

Zutaten Fries:
1 frische/gefrorene Yuca Wurzel
Viel Kokosöl (braten/frittieren)
2-3 Knoblauchzehen
1 großen Plastikbehälter mit Deckel
Gewürze wie: Curry, Salz, Kurkuma, Masala, Muskat
.
Zutaten Mint Chutney:
150ml Kokosmilch
1 Handvoll frische Minze
Salz
.
Rezept:
1.5l Wasser zum kochen bringen. Salzen und die Knoblauchzehen zerpresst ins Wasser geben. Yuca vorsichtig hineinlegen. Kochen bis sie gar sind aber nicht zu weich. Yuca abkühlen lassen und anschließend halbieren. Den faserigen Strunk in der Mitte entfernen. In gewünschte Form schneiden. Die Stücke in heißes Kokosöl geben und von beiden Seiten in einer beschichteten Pfanne goldgelb braten. Die Gewürzmischung im Behälter zusammenmixen und die YucaFries direkt aus der Pfanne hineingeben. Deckel drauf und kräftig schütteln um die Gewürze gleichmäßig zu verteilen.

Minze waschen und mit Kokosmilch und Salz in einem Mixgerät zusammenmischen. Anschließend sieben.

Torta de frigideira low carb, sem glúten e DELICIOSA! Mostrei como fica no instastories.

Ingredientes:
3 ovos
2 Colheres de sopa de azeite ( pode substituir por óleo de coco ou ghee)
5 Colheres de sopa cheias de farinha da amêndoas ( ou FARELO de aveia, não farinha!) 1 colher de sopa de parmesão ralado
1 Colher de chá de fermento
Temperos a gosto

Coloque os ingredientes em um recipiente, misture bem até ficar homogêneo.
Disponha a massa na frigideira untada com azeite, espalhe bem e coloque o recheio da sua preferência bem no meio da massa, usei frango desfiado, azeitona, catupiry e queijo.
Tampe e deixe em fogo médio até que esteja assada (a minha levou 15 minutos). Pronto!! Não esqueçam de curtir e de marcar o amigo que ama torta de frango.

I wouldn’t normally share things like this, but today I felt it was needed. This was my first time planting wheel pose from a standing position and in less than one minute...my mood went from determination, to happiness, then to sadness as I cried lying on the floor.

This is okay. It’s okay to feel on top of the world one moment and totally buried underneath it the next. I didn’t expect my emotions to overwhelm me like that, but it did and this is what healing looks like. Progression is painful and nobody likes that part about growth, but instead of feeling it...we suppress it.

Another gorgeous meal I had in Amsterdam. This was the vegan Buddha bowl with peat nut sauce 🐷 This was from @juicebynature and it was beautiful. They did amazing cold pressed juices also. I had the citrus lush 🍋🍊Went back to this place a few times for food and juice 🤤

good news!!! I have finally found a yogurt that I like, it’s real dairy, and it doesn’t upset my stomach! I have found that I appreciate the real stuff more than a processed alternative! @siggisdairy is made from pastured-raised and grass fed cows which is something I whole-heartedly support! this will forever change the game with my yogurt bowls and I could not be more happy about it! .

I just finished the most delicious everything bagel. The old me would’ve felt guilty for eating it. I’d go on a downward spiral of negative self talk and then because I’d have an an unhealthy meal, the rest of the days meals would consist of unhealthy choices since, in my mind, have already ruined my “diet.” The new me says “You go boo! Enjoy that bagel.” I no longer feel guilty for enjoying my guilty pleasures like bagels, ice cream, a full plate of pasta or pizza. These foods should be incorporated in my meal plan, but in moderation. I’m not out eating bagels everyday (although I’d LOVE to!) From my experiences, I’ve learned that mindset has everything to do with how I feel about food and my body. If I go in feeling good and confident about my choices, I know that one bagel isn’t going to ruin anything I’ve worked hard for or gained. We change our mindset for so many things, whether it’s for careers, happiness, relationships etc. We can do the same for our health. Constantly thinking and over thinking brings on overwhelm and unnecessary stress. It puts your head in a negative space. Eat, enjoy and move forward.

haven’t had a workout in a few days but i’ve had lots of mediterranean food this weekend so who’s the real winner here? date weekend with my boyfriend has been just what i needed. lots of eating, relaxing, and just catching up. my boyfriend and i both work full time so we’re under a lot of stress during the week. nothing a slow weekend can’t fix ☺️ we tried out @hummusmkt in williamsburg yesterday and both agreed this was probably the best meal we’ve ever had. this falafel stuffed pita was definitely the star of the show. we went for lunch and debated whether or not we should come back for dinner later that night...neither of us were opposed to the idea 😉

Food is a huge passion of mine, and because I want to eat whatever I want, I run every morning, and then I do weights a few times a week. It's just how I can balance eating pancakes in the morning, a big burger for lunch, and then a fat steak and cheesecake at night.
