It has been almost 2 years since packing up my belongings and leaving the place I called home my entire life.
I knew almost nothing about Fargo, ND prior to Drew accepting his job offer here. I remember being afraid to make new friends, sad to leave family but excited to start my new journey!
Here are a few things I’ve learned along the way after making the big move:
1. Meet New People
Part of what makes moving away so hard is leaving the social life and friend group you’re most comfortable with. You need to make time for new people..go out with your coworkers, take fitness classes, or meet your new neighbors.
2. Keep Busy
After you settle in at your new place, take time to explore your new city and make a list of places you want to visit within your first few months of living there.
3. Make Plans
It’s so important to make plans with friends and family, especially when it comes time for the holidays even if it’s months in advanced. This will make things a little easier knowing that you have something to look forward to!
4. Keep In Touch
It takes time and effort to keep up with family and friends when you have a whole new life in a different city/state. Reach out. After all your friends and family are only a phone call or text away!
