Crispy buttermilk fried chicken w/ honey hot sauce glaze, mac and cheese, greens and corn bread! 🥰
Ingredients 🛒: -Chicken drumsticks
-Buttermilk pancake batter
-Crisco butter flavored shortening
-All purpose flour
- (Seasonings of your choice).. I used Knorr chicken bouillon powder, black pepper, seasoned salt, “a lil PARSLEY!” 💀 and a little cajun flakes!
-Cornbread (of your choice)
-Some fine h2o
-Macaroni shells -Sharp cheddar cheese
Directions 📝: -Wash chicken well and pat dry to remove moisture
-Season a little but not too much b/c we’re going to season the flour as well! -Grab a plastic bag or ziplock bag and pour a great amount of flour. -Season it with the ingredients listed above -Mix well with your hands (greatest kitchen tool!) -Pour pancake batter into a bowl and make sure there aren’t any lumps! -Add water to batter and stir until you get a thick and cream consistency -Place drumsticks into batter and coat evenly -Remove chicken from batter and place it into the flour until the whole thing doesn’t have a “wet” texture to it. -Put 2 sticks of the crisco shortening into a pan and let it heat up -Drop a pinch of flour in the oil (If it sizzles that means it’s ready) -Put chicken in oil until it creates a nice brown crust -Boil a pot of water, season it, and put the neckbones in -Halfway thru, drop the greens in -Boil pot of water, put in mac shells for 10-12 mins until it’s ready. -Preheat oven to 350 -Pour cornbread mix into bowl with 1 egg, 1/3 cup of milk, cinnamon sugar and mix well! -Butter pan so it doesn’t stick! -Pour mix into pan and place in oven for 20 mins until golden brown! -Drain pasta, add cheese and milk until creamy! -Pour pasta into baking pan, cover with cheese and place in oven. -Remove chicken from oil and place in napkins to catch the excess oil -Melt butter, 8-10 dashes of hot sauce and honey! Stir well and pour over chicken 😊 -Greens should be condensed and ready to eat!
