MY WINNING COMIC STRIP AT 15TH RHEPC, which happened 3 years ago today. Let me share some thoughts about this one (the first time I'm actually sharing this thought): The topic given to us was about the Biometrics during the upcoming 2016 elections at that time. Thankfully, after brainstorming for a good chuck of minutes, I kinda hit 2 birds with one stone: this idea of a silent comic strip where it shows biometrics during elections AND a safety reminder for New Year's (the contest was held December 2015). I don't want to brag, but after the contest I KNEW I WAS GOING TO WIN WITH THAT COMIC STRIP. I just don't know what place, but I was confident I would make it. Of course, I was still skeptical and was a bit nervous because of the fact that only the top 5 would make it to Vigan. I also didn't want to think then that I will win because it might jinx the hell out of my chances. But I was confident with what I came up.
And there it was, I got 3rd place. Was I happy with the result? Yeah, I moved on to the next round, but to be honest I felt like my idea and my work was deserving of the top place. But you know, people especially judges have different tastes, and if it's really meant for you, it will come. As long as we do our best, we can live with the results, win or lose.
Anyway, take care of your fingers everyone.
