Ready for some serious sisterly love and biblical badassery?! Meet Mahlah, Noa, Holgah, Milcah, and Tirzah.
In anticipation of the Israelites’ arrival to the land of milk and honey, there was a census to decide how to divide the land among the adult males. Because their father had died, and none of them were married, the five Daughters of Zelophehad were denied their inheritance.
They were *not* cool with any of THAT patriarchal bs (rightfully so), so they approached Moses and the high court to make their case and defend their rights.
After the sisters spoke, Moses admitted that actually… he wasn’t so sure how to resolve the issue…. So he asked G-d, and G-d was all, “I support the sisters. And all women in similar positions, for that matter. For-ev-er.” ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
Because they were fearless, bold, and unapologetic, the Daughters of Zelophehad created a different reality. So the next time you think your destiny is fixed, remember the Daughters of Zelophehad. Dare to be courageous, walk where nobody has walked before, and never settle for the status quo.
Go get yours, sisters!! #igotallmysisterswithme
