In my reflection, I found you.
Torn by the ripples of time,
but flowing forward like a river
concurring the mountains.
Recently I've started reading the book 'Life's meandering path: a secular approach to Gautama Buddha's guide to living'. What struck me most was the use of reflection to cultivate compassion towards others, be it our friends or our enemies. The author recognises that we are all the same, because we all suffer, and we all just want to be happy. Looking at people from this perspective helps in letting go of any ill will towards them, because you recognise yourself in them. I hope in this way I can let go of my own jealousy or other ill will towards people. It's a steep learning curve, a meandering path, but one worth taking. :)
