🥚🍳You may have noticed a lot of egg containing recipes from the end of last term - this is because we were donated hundreds of beautiful free-range eggs from Good Eggs Ltd. from some happy chooks based right here in Northland. These eggs spurred lots of great learning conversations about why some eggs looked a little different (colours, speckles, sizes and shapes) and how eggs are created from a chicken. We did some research on how we wanted to use them, and shared some to the lunch making team and Te Putahitanga. Every single egg was thoughtfully used and appreciated (all three full boxes!) When your first born brings you home chilli that he made in school you know that you are in for a delicious dinner. Meals in minutes, warm through in my wok, added spinach and a portion of grated cheddar cheese and voila “Dinner Is Served”

The kids request these often. I've begun cooking twice a week with the high schoolers at work and we made a version of these on Thursday. I'm learning a lot and to 🎶let it go🎶 They don't do things the way I would and the end product often looks 😱 but they are learning life skills, engaging and chatting when they are usually disengaged. And that is what matters.
