I believe this is a great step when moving forward, not only regarding sustainability, but in life in general. You learn a lot from listening.
One thought from listening and watching others is this: I believe many people would make more sustainable choices if the choices would be more easily implemented in their way of living. If they felt like they had the time and energy to start digging into this. But I believe there are many people that don't feel like they have enough energy to start changing habits right now. Changing habits requires work, and many people are exhausted. They have enough on their table. I know, because sometimes I'm very tired or stressed out too. And when I am, I don't have a lot of energy to think of ways to save the planet.
For those of you who are tired, and still feel like you would like to take more sustainable steps but you don't know where to start, I'll give some tips from my point of view. Start easy. What is the easiest step for you to take in your situation?
The most important individual sustainable steps in order to handle climate change, as I understand it, are these:
🌲radically reduce using fossil fuels
🌲radically reduce flying
🌲radically reduce eating meat/diary products
🌲radically reduce consumtion
🌲reduce and sort waste
🌲avoid products that result in deforestation (like e.g. non ecological palmoil)
🌲communicate with politicians regarding their actions on climate change
One easy step to start with it to reduce consumtion. Buy less stuff. Another easy step is to use the search engine Ecosia (they plant trees for the money they make on ads). For some, reducing flying might be easy. Just find the steps that suits you best right now and start from there. Maybe more steps will follow 👣
