Ive finally got some guts to post some short therapeutic Yoga tutorial videos! See this one in full on IG TV.
I’d like to portray real Yoga more just as I teach it, embodied movement with breath, focus on feeling and sensing all the body to expand and release.
Not all yoga teachers (and yogis) were / are dancers or gymnastics, I’ve never done either but I love all sports and functional, no posey yoga. I like taking nice arty photos and love Instagram for our community here but feel that it’s contradictory to the Union of Yoga; often showing a perfect pose and not Yoga for all, for everybody.
I also feel I need to go deeper and develop as a teacher - this is my offering to you all.
Here’s my first of many free Yoga videos for you. Please let me know what you think, feedback is very welcome.

Practice hardships and do difficult things! ~ The thing I hear most often about handstand training is how difficult it is… to which my answer is "yes, it is." Actively seeking out hard things to accomplish is something that seems to be missing in adulthood in society today as there are so many passive ways to be entertained. What if you chose something you always wanted to learn and thought it was too hard? Practiced it everyday to see where you are after a week, a month, a year. What will you have learned about your new skill or most importantly about yourself.

Dead hang Progress 😀

Haven't posted in a while with life getting in the way (lack of sleep and injury) but I've still been chipping away with my shoulder mobility. Sometimes 15mins here and 10 mins there is all it takes, it's better than doing nothing.
Super happy that my hang time has gone up and I can now hang with one hand without twisting round. Also being able to change from one hand to the other without letting go!
Progress is happening people, goes to show that a little bit everyday actually goes along way!
Don't think that getting better in you workouts is not possible, don't compare yourself to others just compare yourself with you last year or 6 months ago. If your willing to work at it you WILL see progress!

After going through all hosts options today I decided to work on Meredith's #FlyingCrowPress to #FunkyPincha. . .

I have only recently talked to my friends Sabine @sportandtravel and Tanesha @tsmikle about this press and how it looks possible, yet the last time I tried I couldn't lift my knee even an inch. .

Today I pressed first time ever. yay! 🎉. Yeah, I know it's not perfect and needs lots of work but it's a start and I'm excited. .

What made a huge diffrence for me is using that top leg to pull the crow leg up. When I tried to press with straight upper leg it wasn't happening but when I bent my knee and went for more of a stag it helped tremendously. So that would be my tip if anyone is asking lol. 😉. . . .

This is why you won't see traditional situps in my core and pelvic floor strengthening program! And why I LOVE exercises like heavy one-arm carry, pallof press, and deadbugs. .

Your core muscles are designed to resist movement. Your spine, while being extremely resilient isn’t made for repeated flexion, extension and side bending. The core muscles are anti-movers and work to stabilize the spine while the rest of the body moves. I’ve been preaching that anti rotation and anti extension core exercises are the king when it comes to developing a strong and functional midline but I’ve never talked about side bending.

The best way to build your obliques/core is through stabilization and isometric movements. That’s why bird dogs, deadbugs and planks have gained so much popularity as of late. Building strong obliques is an important part of developing your core. Fortunately, there are many more effective exercises to choose from that target these muscles.

DUMBELL SIDE BENDS WONT SPOT REDUCE FAT in the sides of your belly. The only way to lose belly fat is to follow a workout program that makes sense and support it with a diet. So if this was the reason you were doing them, stop :). They also look awkward as heck.

SWIPE RIGHT FOR A BETTER ALTERNATIVE: The front rack KB March is my favorite exercise to challenge the obliques, QL and Multifidus, three muscles that play a big role in stabilizing the spine.

Okay so this is new: apparently I don’t eat enough...🤨 That is something I have not heard in my adult life. (I used to be too skinny until 18 when that changed into “normal” with tendency to get fat (also genetics)) I have lost 2,8kg in less than one month (yes!) however I also lost muscle mass, even though I am intensifying my #strenghttraining and workouts, not good👎🏻 So I am going to start keeping track of my food intake again and calculate my protein intake per day and if I indeed do not eat enough protein as my trainer is saying I might consider adding a vegan protein shake to my diet....
