Was a weekend full of excellent brews! @3fonteinen Oude Geuze, @barncatales Breakfast at Twilight, @burdockbrewery Ruby, @oxbowbrewingcompany/@sideprojectbrew Nocturnality and @halfhoursonearth The Edge Of Forever. @3fonteinen oude geuze was the highlight of the night (of course). The boys from @barncatales coming in a close second, Breakfast at Twilight is a 10% imperial porter with maple syrup and Kenyan coffee, the perfect amount of coffee and a slightly rich maple syrup sweetness balanced by a nice roasted bitter chocolate finish. They nailed it! @burdockbrewery Ruby, a wine/beer hybrid which was a blend of 2 to 2.5 year old barrel aged sissons (46%) + farmhouse saison aged on cab franc skins for 3 months (46%) + riesling (8%), pure cherry bomb with a slightly sweet/tart vinous character, delicious! @oxbowbrewingcompany/@sideprojectbrew Nocturnality is a dark farmhouse ale that was spontaneously inoculated in their coolship then aged in bourbon barrels for 14months with a mixed culture from @sideprojectbrew, this was a funk bomb with a nice light tartness and very subtle bourbon notes that where more noticable in the aroma. @halfhoursonearth The Edge of Forever is a mixed fermentation farmhouse sour ale with dark cherries, blackberries and vanilla aged in oak (bourbon). A delicious mixture of cherry and blackberry with a subtle note of vanilla sweetness, oak is there as well, nicely tart/funky.
