@buxtonbrewery Guatemalan Coffee Extra Porter. A Porter brewed with Guatemalan Coffee, Vanilla bean and cocoa nib.
The aroma is full of dark roast coffee and some chocolate, very much reminds me of the Founders Breakfast Stout. The taste is strong roasty coffee upfront, with some acidity from the coffee and ends with charred wood kind of bitterness. As the name suggests, coffee is the main focus of this beer.
At 7.4% ABV I think the body is a bit light compared to many big coffee stout out there. I guess the brewer wanted to give it a filter brewed coffee kind of clean taste to highlight the characteristics of the Guatemalan beans instead of an expresso shot feel that most other big coffee stout does.
Overall I enjoy it very much, though at some point it made me confused whether i was having a beer or a coffee.
