@claremontcraftales @bottlelogicbrewing The Prado Effect Northeast Style Double IPA. 8% with Vic Secret, Denali and Mosaic hops.
Going to be 100% honest here...I’ve had a couple different Claremont Craft Ales Small Batch Release beers and haven’t loved them. I only purchased this one because it was a collaboration with Bottle Logic and I’m a big fan of Bottle Logic beers. With that being said, this was disappointing from the beginning. Maybe I misunderstood something, but this didn’t have the NE-style look I was used to. Poured a golden color out of the can...not hazy, but more like dirty or cloudy...almost like a West Coast-style on steroids. Lots of small champagne like bubbles throughout the beer creating a thin but lively foamy white head. The nose was all about sweet pineapple, wet grass and dank weed. Not the most inviting aromas, but not terrible either. In the mouth, this had a medium mouthfeel with flavors of pineapple, dank weed, some slight booze and a little funk. It wasn’t terrible, but it certainly wasn’t what I was expecting and definitely wasn’t a beer I’d expect @bottlelogicbrewing to have their name on. As it warmed, the pineapple and citrus flavors came out a little more, but it still wasn’t a really enjoyable or easy drinking beer. I’ve seen a lot of good reviews of this beer and apparently I’m in the minority on this one. Not sure if people really loved it or the Bottle Logic fanboys are just pumping It up because it’s associated with BL. Regardless, I wasn’t a big fan and it’s not something I’d have again (or recommend).
