Found out some bittersweet news last week that my friend Richard @rootbitters is moving to Phoenix this weekend. I’m “stuck” in Toronto so wanted to pay him a proper homage
I met Richard only about 6 months ago over coffee and I immediately felt like I found a life long friend
Richards passion & positive energy are contagious and the best part is it comes from a place so so genuine. He’s the guy that literally would give you the shirt off his back (maybe what happened in the last pic )
He’s one of the most creative & supportive friends I have in my life ... we all need more Richards in our life
I’ll miss the afternoon brainstorm coffee breaks that were slowly becoming a fixture, but wish you nothing but the best my friend ... You deserve nothing less

Cocktail inspired by Barcelona’s food culture.
40ml Chairman’s reserve
20ml Chairman’s spiced
20ml Lime juice
20ml Toasted tiger nut and coconut orgeat
20ml Padron pepper falernum
Rimmed with black olive salt
Garnished with a flower
Toasted tiger nut and coconut orgeat - toast 100g of tiger nut with 50g of desiccated coconut on a frying pan. Then leave in a 1:1 syrup over night.
Padron pepper falernum - 6oz Chartreuse verde
Zest of 9 limes with no white pith
10 whole cloves,
10 cardamom pods
2 star aniseed (all) toasted
1 ½ oz (by weight) peeled and chopped fresh ginger
6oz orgeat syrup
80z simple syrup. 1:1
4 ½ oz fresh lime juice
Black olive salt -
100g dried black olives
100g sea salt
