Honestly, im torn right now cause i respect his mentality 100%. I respect loyalty but i personally myself, like to win a lot. I strive to succeed, and im sure that Lillard does too but there comes a point of realization where he's gonna have to realize whats in front of him when it comes to his aspirations with the Trailblazers. Sadly i gotta be real with y'all and just say it straight up, "You aint winning shit in Portland at this point". Right now, if Lillard who is 28 to 29 years old, STAYS in the team AFTER his contract expires in the 2020-21 season where he will be like 30 to 31, i see Lillard's career going one of two ways,
1) He can end up ringless like Reggie Miller but without the Finals Appereance. Going out in the 1st or 2nd round of the playoffs every year at MOST.
2) He can end his career like a Steve Nash or a Jason Kidd. I say Nash in the aspect where he did try to go to a team with championship aspirations after his tenure with the Suns when he went to the Lakers. Obviously that didnt work due to a lot of reasons but he tried. Lastly, Kidd in the aspect that he go traded from the Nets to the Mavericks and he won a championship there at his latest stages of his career.
I can see Lillard possibly leaving the Trailblazers at his latest stages of his career pursuing a championship or i can see him getting TRADED at his latest stages of his career. Wether he wins a ring or not, that all depends on which team, etc and a whole bunch of variables. Lastly, idk wether to agree with Lillard's mindset right now or not.
