More than 40 days ago I made an investment in myself. I had been feeling uncomfortable in my own skin. My clothes weren’t fitting, I had extremely low energy, wasn’t sleeping well, was eating like crap because I was tired and not feeling good about myself. Junk food was what I craved and I 100% gave into those cravings. Then I’d feel like crap after eating so poorly and think why did I just do that? It was a vicious cycle that was getting me nowhere good. Then I saw a new online challenge group starting up for 80 Day Obsession (round 2). That’s when I said to myself this is it! And I haven’t looked back.
This is not a quick fix or some fad diet. Its the choice to make a lifestyle change, it’s hard work and commitment to yourself to make those changes. Progress not perfection <—this is a daily reminder for me ... that and big changes don’t happen over night. Working out and eating healthy for a week isn’t going to give me a six pack, or those nice toned arms and legs I want. Being consistent with my healthy eating and workouts that’s what will give me the results I want. But it doesn’t stop when this program is done ... like I said it’s a LIFESTYLE!
Yes I have some days that are better than others .... sometimes pressing play is the absolute LAST thing I want to do and to be honest there have been a few days i haven’t hit play. But does one bad day mean I give up? NO! I get back at it, learn what works for ME and what doesn’t. And I listen to my body. Rest days, good sleep and stress management are all a part of living a healthy lifestyle.
It’s not about being perfect, or comparing yours or to others who might be on a similar journey to yours. Im learning to be the best version of ME!
Stepping out of my comfort zone and making changes isn’t easy. But this change has definitely been worth it. Yes I’ve toned up and lost a few pounds since I started this journey. I’ve also gained lots of energy, I sleep so much better, I’m happier, so much healthier and looking at myself in a more positive way.
