Keep close to nature’s heart... and break clear away, once in awhile, and climb a mountain or spend a week in the woods. Wash your spirit clean.
On Sunday, Isaac, my brother, his son and I climbed a short ascent to the top of a beautiful bluff that overlooks the Wisconsin River.
These are ten of my favorite photos from our time up there.
It was at this point in the day... the only time... that I used my DSLR. But since it felt like it was 100 degrees up there, it seemed easier just to shoot with my phone. So I used that camera more... including these.
All of us agreed... we could build a home and live out our years there... it was that peaceful. I’m told eagles fly over this spot often, although we did not get to see any while we were there.
I plan to go back when the weather is cooler... maybe take a light lawn chair and a good book... or my earbuds so I can listen to something beautiful while I absorb all that beauty.
If I didn’t want others to enjoy such a pretty place, I’d selfishly want to claim it as my own... set up a tiny house and call it home.
It sort of felt like home.
