Doing some stiff legged deficit deadlifts to switch things up for today’s strength focused lower body day. I usually do these on flat ground but decided to add a deficit in order to get an even greater stretch in the hamstrings. No music, couldnt get focused, felt OK but wasn't with it mentally today

Some comfortable deficit Deads after front squat and high bar pause squat volume. Morning bodyweight was 88.9kg/196lbs.
-
Did a bunch of doubles and single between 230kg/507lbs and 235kg. Hardest set was rpe 6.5 and that was due to positioning at the start of the pulls. -
Positioning is improving on these, have been doing them for a few blocks, only introduced pulls off the floor this block so form for them still feels a bit off.
-
First block not using straps and I find deads easier raw. Grip has never been an issue for me on deadlifts, the issue with straps are that they can cause you to spend too much time at the bottom and lose tightness/the stretch or psyche yourself out.

I'm sure there are ways to not have these issue with straps but I can't do it consistently.

At the moment I'm deadlifting every 3 days which is pretty high frequency for deadlifts, I'd class the weight as moderate to heavy depending on which week of my block I'm in.

The deadlift is notoriously hard to recover from and the only way I can make this work is by keeping the volume and RPE (proximity to failure) low. Hence why no set was closer than 3-4 reps from failure, even in the final week of the block.
