I feel like a lot of times we get caught up in getting validation and reward. Getting that next good grade in school, another popular picture on social media, another job promotion. I think goals are important and great, and we should be chasing our dreams, but I think it’s also really important to just embrace the process. When I’m assisting in the dental office, I love getting lost in the creative process of creating a temporary crown, watching an awesome (lol) anterior composite restoration, etc. Time flies by and yet there’s still magic in seeing the masterpiece come together, bit by bit.
What do you enjoy that you would do more of in your life, even if you weren’t recognized for it? What do you do for yourself and yourself only?
These are super important things to know about ourselves. Chasing goals is a temporary fix, there’s always going to be a new one on the horizon. So just make sure that while you’re chasing, you’re also taking the time to create a life with meaning and purpose, and most importantly a life that’s true to you.
Just some lunch break thoughts lol, hope you’re all having an awesome day!
