CRACKS IN THE CANDY
#ExpeditionDeathValley2019 is in full swing and we've captured some amazing images so far.
After a 4:00am wake up and traveling to the Badwater Basin to shoot the Salt Flats for sunrise to the mud cracks at Furnace Creek.
We took a small break after lunch to regroup and charge batteries, etc. Then rushed back out to the spot we had scouted earlier in the day.
Just as we pulled up to our spot, the sun was blasting warm golden light into the valley, highlighting these unique and tender features of the basin.
Tender in the way that, many people rush out to photograph these and in the process, destroy them. We took a careful route as not to disturb them.
As the sunset, the cloud formations began to burst with significant amounts of colors. Pinks, Purples, Reds, and Yellows. With the looks of cotton candy floating above, it seemed to really contrast against the barren floor of the valley.
There are many references to Hell in Death Valley, after all this is the Hottest place in the US. Throughout the day we discussed this, this evening it occurred to me... The beauty that lies in Death Valley, the colors of the sky, the rocks, the mountains.... all are beauty of God's handy work, and signs #GodLovestoPaint @deathvalleynps
