Yup. It’s a stack of the most Texan pancakes you’ll ever see (other than the fact that they’re small 🤣). A sweet friend of mine sent me a Texas-shaped “pancake ring” for my birthday last week. I had never heard of a pancake ring so NATURALLY was super intrigued and had to make a batch asap.
.
To be honest I was a liiittle skeptical that the shape would hold, but DID it ever. I was so impressed! (Look out 👀 for a video in my stories!). I tried @birchbenders classic recipe pancake mix for the first time (+ blueberries), and it was 👍🏻👍🏻.
.
I’m not a true Texan (unless making Texas-shaped food counts?), but my husband was born and raised here. Being from California I naturally still have superior feelings about West coast Mexican food. But, I will admit this state’s not half bad. 😉

Starbucks PSL has nothing on our home creation!

We mixed together a dash of ground nutmeg, cinnamon, cloves, and ginger with 1 heaping TBSP canned pumpkin. Added 1 TBSP hazelnut creamer (I use @coffeematebliss). Mix well. Pour coffee over the pumpkin spice mixture. Stir.

Heart Health ❣
We all should know a healthy lifestyle is essential for a healthy heart- a healthy balanced diet, getting plenty of exercise, limiting alcohol and not smoking 👍🏻
From a diet perspective here are some hints and tips to help with heart health ❣
1️⃣ Eating plenty of fruit and vegetables- they provide us with vitamins, minerals, fibre and antioxidants which are all essential for heart health 🍇 🌽
2️⃣ Eat more fish 🐟- especially oily fish which contains omega 3 which is thought to be beneficial for heart health! Aim to have 2 portions per week- one of which should be oily! 🐟
3️⃣ Eat less salt- too much salt increases our risk of high blood pressure which then puts more pressure on our heart! Try not to add salt while cooking or at the table and avoid eating high volumes of salty foods 🍟
4️⃣ Stick to healthier fats- where possible avoid high quantities of saturated and trans fats which tend to be high in processed foods and meat/dairy products! Stick to unsaturated and polyunsaturated, which can help lower cholesterol too! e.g. cook with olive oil and use olive oil based spreads!
5️⃣ Plant sterols and stanols- some products are advertised as being beneficial for heart health due to being fortified with plant sterols and stanols which are thought to lower cholesterol absorption! However these foods have to be consumed daily in fairly large quantities so may not be suitable for everyone!
6️⃣ Aim for a healthy weight- this will help prevent too much strain being put on our organs by carrying extra weight around! 💗

Post early morning workout - #breakfast. Breakfast is probably my favorite meal of the day, you can have a sweet or savory breakfast and I just think that’s really cool 😜. .

Stumbled across a motivating Instagram page and saw one of the recipes for oatmeal/banana pancakes. So whipped this up. If you’d like to check it out @cori_fit posted it. Topped these babies with the rest of the banana, some #peanutbutter and syrup, mini chocolate chips and can’t forget the whipped cream. .
.
Also, been having hot lemon water with a splash of apple cider vinegar cause it’s really been helping my digestion. The apple cider vinegar helps my chronic eye condition. Probably placebo effects on that but since using it I’ve noticed a huge difference so why stop right? .

⭐️Half eaten food, bread crusts, wonky carrot bits🥕🤣 -nothing wrong with that! Did you know that 40 PERCENT of America’s entire food supply goes to waste. That’s BILLIONS of pounds worth of perfectly edible, wholesome food and meat. Half eaten fruit and veg- just cut up and leave in the fridge for some salad the next day :)
