Many of us have been conditioned to believe that
Being vulnerable is being weak.
We “hide” behind masks, that keep us safe, in control.
We wear this armour
That protects us from being hurt,
That protects us from being seen for who we truly are
What is it that you don’t want others to see in you? Ask yourself that.
What do you fear?
Behind it all, is fear, guilt and shame.
Terrified of being truly seen,
Terrified of being judged for those aspects of ourselves we perceive as shameful
Yet, we don’t realise that our struggle to constantly hide behind a facade and strive for perfection is what makes us feel disengaged, empty, and lonely.
Let go of who you think you should be, and allow yourself to be your authentic self
What makes you vulnerable is what makes you beautiful,
It’s what allows you to form deep bonds with others and feel a sense of belonging.
Being vulnerable is not easy, it takes practice
And it’s something I am still working on myself ..
Being vulnerable taught me so many great things..
One thing I know for sure, is that it takes a lot of strength to show vulnerability
